The Prologue

I'm crawling out of my skin with excitement to start our home remodel. Since 2003, I've been chomping at the bit to dig into this 1931, quirky house and mold it into something that belongs to our family's lifestyle and purpose. After a failed relationship with an architect last year, J and I tabled the idea of remodeling. I mourned the loss of the prospect of breathing new life into our home. Then J found H. And from the moment I met her, I knew she was the one. I've been told that I have an innate sixth sense about people and I tend to agree. H has that style, an effortless manner to her that speaks to me. She seems to understand me...(that may be a super power) and turns my non-design babble into a coherent set of ideas.

I'm going to have to keep meditating with the mantra "I'm not going to worry that the economy sucks and we really can't afford to do this remodel even though we can so stop worrying!" So far, I don't know why, it's not working too well. Maybe I should shorten the mantra so I can remember it. Whatever, we're doing it! Don't laugh at the before pictures 'cause you'll be all up in my business with jealousy soon enough!
Thanks H, you rock.
To be continued...
